    Default USFA Press Release #02-192

FEMA advised that they had received 480 grant applications for this years Fire Prevention, is this a total for both application periods or is this just for the last month when they opened up taking applications again? They also stated that the average proposal is over $130,000 but for those funded so far equals $7,527,845 for 173 grants. This only averages out to $43,513.54 each? Is the fire prevention to be broken up to 45%-Carreer/55%-Volunteer and Combination Depts. split, thereby giving the volunteer and combination departments a shot?

    Default

Thats a separate application process....part of the program ($10M available) but not part of the money being given out from the main application.

    Cool Fire Prevention Grants

    Kevin,
Got an update from FEMA that advised that 480 new grants were received during the second 30 day period with some 60+ going to get funded starting the first of December. New math or old 1 in 8 are the chances of being funded.
