Oklahoma City deputy named fire chief in Fort Worth

(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A 21-year veteran of the Oklahoma City
Fire Department will be leaving town to take a top post in Texas.
L-Charles Gaines has been confirmed as the new fire chief in
Fort Worth, Texas. Gaines had been a deputy fire chief in Oklahoma
City.
Fort Worth City Councilman Clyde Picht says Gaines' experience
during the Oklahoma City bombing would be helpful in designing
disaster preparedness plans.
Picht expects Gaines to make an assessment of how the Fort Worth
department can be improved.
