TIMMONSVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Four children between the ages of 11
months and 3 years old were killed Monday morning in a mobile home
fire.
Four adults and a 2-year-old child escaped from the fire, but
the toddler was burned on about 50 percent of his body, Florence
County Sheriff's Capt. Todd Tucker said.
The 2-year-old was taken to the burn center at the Medical
University of South Carolina.
WIS-TV in Columbia reported that the children who died were
Rashawn and Jamyra Lyde, both 3 years old; Jaqrya Hart, 2; and
Alexis Hart, 11 months.
The children's great aunt Barbara Jackson lives next door.
"When we got to this window ... only thing we could hear is one
of the kids holler 'Mom,' " she said.
