Default Water Rescue - Victim Flotation

Thought I'd post this here as well......

Looking for some advice/ideas/recommendations for VICTIM flotation.

Requirement(s): Highly portable, light weight (preferred), simple/idiot proof (for both rescuer and victim), functional for children/adults (within reason), functional in both swiftwater and stillwater situations (although swiftwater is the general emphasis), land-deployable, and stowable/durable.

Use would be primarily focused on rescues in mountainous areas away
    from roads/vehicles.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Default How about an inflatable PFD?

You might consider an inflatable Personal Floatation Device with a CO2 cartridge. We use two different styles manufactured by MUSTANG SURVIVAL. One is water activated and auto inflates, the other is a manual inflate where the victim would have to pull on a tab.

    Just an idea...
