Sunday Nov.17,at 11:20a.m. the Moulton Fire Dept.was dispatched by 911 to a reported house fire w/heavy smoke showing.The location was approx.3 miles East of the city limits.Tanker 19 responded at 11:22 and Engine 20 at 11:23.Upon arrival by T-19 they reported heavy smoke and fire showing in the attic of a 1 story frame unoccupied residence.
Two 1.75 handlines from T-19 and two 1.75 handlines from E-20 were used to bring the fire under control at 11:50a.m.
The fire started in the kitchen around the hot water heater and microwave but was believed to be started by the hot water heater shorting out.
Crews from the Caddo Fire Dept. were called to assist the M.F.D. on this call.All units cleared the scene at 1:08p.m.There were a total of 14 firefighters on this call.
