A fast-moving fire at a two-unit apartment house left one man dead and another badly burned.
Several people were inside when the two-alarm blaze broke out around 9:00 Sunday morning. Neighbors saw the fire and ran to tell those inside.

"TWO PEOPLE CAME AROUND THE BUILDING SCREAMING, 'THERE ARE STILL TWO PEOPLE INSIDE.'"

"MY FRIEND AND I RAN AROUND TO THE BACK AND THEY HAD PULLED SOMEONE OUT FROM THE BASEMENT THAT WASN'T BREATHING AND WAS UNCONSCIOUS ON THE GROUND."

Two adults and an infant living upstairs got out safely. The man was treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

Police believe the fire started on the main floor, possibly in the living room. They're still trying to determine a cause.
