Two-Alarm Fire Destroys Neptune Beach Bank
Jacksonville Fire-Rescue Assists Beaches Firefighters

December 11, 2002

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. -- Firefighters are still on the scene of a two-alarm fire in an office park in Neptune Beach, and suggest that people avoid the area while clean-up continues.
The fire at the Coral Point Professional Park on 3rd Street near Oak -- just south of Atlantic Boulevard -- was reported just after 4:30 a.m. and spectators report the fire was consuming the building and heavy smoke was seen in the area.

Beaches firefighters called Jacksonville Fire-Rescue for assistance because of the potential for the fire to spread.

One of the fire hydrants in the area wasn't working, slowing down their firefighting effort.

There were no injuries in the fire. A bank building sustained the most damage.
