Foreman dead after Flushing Bay mishap

COLLEGE POINT, NY A foreman on a barge docked off the Flushing Bay died after falling into a cement container on the boat Saturday, police said.

Dylan Reed, 33, of Florida fell into the container while checking the pump system at about 3:30 p.m., police said.

The barge was docked at the St. Lawrence Cement Company at 31-30 College Point Blvd., where a delivery of a cement additive was being made, police said.

Rescue workers removed Reed from the container at about 7 p.m., and he was pronounced dead. Police were investigating the accident.
