We had our annual Christmas dinner last night and i was voted the Firefighter of the Year. I'm only the second junior who has gotten this on my department.

Congratulations! Are you one of those people that is amazingly good at this, without even trying? There's a junior on our department like that, and it is not me! I don't do very well with decision making during emergencies. (I know, great choice for something to do with my life, right.)

Just hard work, giving 110% and being here when I was needed by putting most of my spare time into the fire department.

Congratualtions on quite an accomplishment. It took me 21 yrs on our department to finally get the honor. There is nothing like having your own fellow members recognizing your dedication and devotion to this "calling" that we all have.
