Our Department has enterted a Cross roads, we have seen a large increase in new members, our call load is increasing and for the first tyime in the five years I have been with this Department we actualy have started a Training program.... But the Chief and Asst Chief and a few other "older" members insist on doing things the "old" ways,, this defeats our training and sets a terrible example for our Probies.. a major issue is the wear of Bunker Gear at Scenes,, several of us wear it as often as the situation dictates,, but the Chief and "others" fail to Lead by example.

Now would be a good time to have your workman's comp carrier stop by to do an "audit" and make sure you are doing things in order to be NFPA compliant. This way you're not the heavy.
Check with your municipality to get your carrier's name & number.
Good luck.Steve Dragon
