Try USI Electric. I have them in my house and they seem to work just fine. Not that I have had to use them mind you. lol. Here is their website:

Good luck.
Firechick,
While you're remodeling, you should install smoke detectors in the bedrooms, also! (If you're not doing very extensive work in those areas, consider battery detectors for the bedrooms - some detection is better than none).
The dual-power smoke detectors you're looking for can be purchased at just about any hardware store, and you'll probably find the lowest prices at the major chains like Home Depot or Lowe's.
Good luck.
Ivan.
How about detector on first floor?
Hey Firechick484
You should be able to find the smoke alarms you are seeking at your local electrical supply house. These should use a 120volt supply and have batteries as a back-up. They will be wired together in such a way as to have them all sound whenever any one of them goes into alarm. Our locality requires one in every bedroom, one in every room that is adjacent to a bedroom, and a minimum of one device per floor.
Wow Firebox- they're pretty strict rules in your area!
If only all areas were that strict on fire safety- maybe there would be less fatalities....;)
Are these rules new?
If so, has your department seen a reduction in the loss of life?
