Hi everybody! I just have quick question for any firefighter or firebuff out there: what is a chase driver and what is there role at an incident? I saw a t.v. documentary called "the bravest" and I was confused as to the role and purpose of a chase driver.
Thanks gang!

In regards to TV, a chase car is the vehicle following the apparatus with the camera crew in it while going to a call. The "chase driver" is the person driving the chase car.
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

The program only has so many people to do the video, so in many cases the fire department gives them a chase vehicle so they can respond all over town rather than being stuck to an engine or trucks first due area.

The Chiefs Bitch
Around here the "Case driver" Is the Duty Driver, Chief's Bitch.. A.K.A. The grocery getter so on and so forth. Many times he is a light duty guy who gets tasked with all the small day to day stuff around the firehouse…
