NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A 30-year veteran of the New Haven fire
department was sworn in Monday as the city's new fire chief.
Michael Grant, a former longtime assistant chief, replaced
Dennis Daniels, who resigned on Jan. 1.
Grant becomes the 15th chief in department history, having risen
through the ranks while earning several medals.
He also serves on the city's homeland security task force, which
assesses the risks of possible terrorist attacks.
