Anyone have NFPA info specific to new apparatus? We will soon begin to spec out our new engine and I want to look over some of the lastest NFPA stuff.

To start with you can go to federal signal and on their pages get the NFPA requirements to emergency lighting.

What kind of information are you looking for?
NFPA 1901 is the standard, you may want to purchase a copy. Makes for very interesting reading, haha.

NFPA 1901 IS the standard for apparatus. If you want to understand it, there is not much else you can do but read the book. Your other option is to require all bids to be 1901 compliant...then you put some of the burden on the manufacturer/dealer.Originally posted by bkholmes

NFPA Info
firemanjb i believe if you want the manufacturer to make the rig to 1901 standards you will have to read it so you can check that they comply to it.Bottom Line you will need to read it.If you don't then it's buyer beware.

Go to www.nfpa.org
You can purchase any standard you want. Any one sending you a copy of the standard that they are members of the NFPA is a NO NO. It is against the law to copy and give a standard to anyn one who is not a member of them.
Any one doing such can get into some real trouble with NFPA and the FBI!!!
