I just moved to a new town.. It is small with of course.. small budget.. They are very low on pagers/radios, so I have decided to purchase my own. I have volunteered with a dept. before, so I know what I am getting into.
I just don't know where to go to get the best deal on used/new pager. Also (of course).. the pager or radio would have to be programmed for the new freq/tones..

Why not let the department order it for you and you pay for it or reimburse them for it? That way they would get it from their normal supplier, it would be covered under their maint plan (if they have one) and it would/should come programmed correctly."This thread is being closed as it is off-topic and not related to the fire industry." - Isn't that what the Off Duty forum was for?

Look for a place that will sell the radio and program it for you when you buy it. Also, check eBay. But be carefull. There have been a few people on eBay lately running scam operations. He will tell you he has whatever you need for dirt cheap then take the money and run.Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

i would have to agree with bones have the dept order it and pay them. that way you dont have to pay tax and you can get exactly what they have, and there wont be any problems communicating with the dept on a scene."Let's Roll." Todd Beamer 9/11 first soldier in the war on terror
