*** REPORT FROM THE LINE OF FIRE ***

1-24-03
Raymond, WI
House Fire

At around 0210 hrs. Raymond Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the 11800 blk of Hwy K for a report of a house fire. First engine on scene reported a working fire through the roof. At this time command called for Wind Lake to the scene as an ara. Command also called in extra rigs to the scene from the following depts; Caledonia with a tanker, Union Grove with an engine & tanker, & Kanasaville with an engine. As soon as command seen the heavy fire, he then called out the Racine Fire Bells for rehab. Once again, the weather was a factor with icy conditions. The cause of the fire was believed to be attributed to a heat lamp to keep a litter of 15 kittens in the back of the home. Sadly to say, the family dog perished in the fire, he was found under the bed in one of the bed rooms. Both homeowners may have received smoke inhalation, treated at the scene. One firefighter suffered a fainting spell, he was treated by rescue personal, but was not transported to the hospital.
