    Default My Truck...

Well, as you can probably tell by the green leaves, I took the photos this past Summer.

Just took a while to get to posting the truck I'm the "Assigned Driver" on (a/k/a Engineer)

Thats not a TRUCK. It doesn't have an aerial on it. LOL. Thats a brush rig or "Booster" as we call them. Just messing with you.

Stay low and move it in.

$50k for the chassis, $50k for the fire work.

Started out as a $35k Town appropriation to refurb a 1969 International 4x4 Engine. We got the town to kick in an extra $15k and did the rest out of fundraiser funds. Sold the Engine for $10k or so to a small department in the Catskills (Callicoon Center)

Very nice, but is there a reason you kept the overall height down? With a box like the G.I. Command Post HUMVEE you could carry more stuff.

    Nice rig, Dal.

We have a Hummer Dealer about 2 miles down the road from our station. Hmmmmmm. I wonder if we could get a chassis donated (or at least at cost).

I'm not aware of any decision to limit the height, that's just what it ended up.

That said, we're also up against a GVW issue. Especially at the time it was before the factory higher GVWs came out, and we did need to add an after-market spring kit to improve handling. We're pretty much maxed weight wise, so no more heavy equipment...and so no need to go higher to store more. The truck does handle the weight well though, stops on a dime (actually very surprisingly well!)

The Hummer chassis at the time offered a GVWR higher than a F-350 dually, in a chassis 12" shorter and 9" narrower.

Those new F550 chassis sure like nice to me sometimes...but everytime I back the service up in a small area, I kinda like my small truck even if it's hard to pack!

Nice rig, how do you like the Snuffer? Resq14 and I are working on the specs for a new mini and the snuffer is likely to be the pump of choice, only we'd like to get the next size larger w/diesel plant.

Oh, I see a major problem with this supposed "fire truck", no Federal Q!
