I seem to be getting an unusually high number of pop-up ads while on this website. Is this something that can be ended, they are extremly annoying.
Thanks,
Mike

There are no pop up ads on Firehouse.com, at all. Not sure where you are seeing them, perhaps your connection is sending them or your Instant Messaging program. But there are no pop up ads on this site.

That is defenitely not something from us. Is it like an ad or a text only kinda thing. There are some wierd programs going around that infiltrate your computer and make pop ups occur....are you logged on with an Instant Messenger program at the same time by chance?

If it helps to track it down, I use a local ISP, and don't get the pop-ups even when I have the IM running. I've never gotten pop-ups from this site.

Thanks Steamer. We defenitely don't have any pop ups on the site. There is some new annoying technology that somehow goes through Instant Messenger programs and can push ads onto your computer while you're doing things...among other programs people may have downloaded and unknowingly included pop ups. While we realize it may seem like its happening while they are logging on to Firehouse.com, we can assure everyone its defenitely not our site doing it. Like spam, pop-ups are everywhere and sometimes its near impossible to block them if you don't know what program or connection is causing them.
Thanks

I can tell you how to get rid of some of them, but if you do this you will not be able to open some sites like games and some others. If you want to know how pm me
I was hoping it was something the webteam could take care of but if it is not from this site I guess there isn't much they can do.
Thanks for the response webteam, and I will just keep closing them.Proud to be IACOJ Illinois Chapter--Deemed "Crustworthy" Jan, 2003

Are you using a free ISP that is supported by pop-up ads?
