0253 3rd ALM++ HARTFORD CONN Box 4662 5 Greenwood St "Greenwood Health Center" 1-story brick nursing home with approx. 150 beds - fire confined to (1) wing of the building with heavy smoke thruout - there were 10 fatalities at the scene - 23 others were transported to area hospitals with some being taken by 2 Lifestar helos to Bridgeport Burn Center and the Norwalk Hospital hyperbaric chamber - a "mass casualty" signal was transmitted early on in the fire bringing mutual aid ambulances from several towns - firefighters evacuated nearly 100 residents into the cold night (3 degrees above zero) - mutual aid fire companies responded to the fire from West Hartford, East Hartford and New Britain - mutual aid station coverage from Waterbury, Newington, Bloomfield and Windsor.

1604 W/F BERLIN CONN 703 Edgewood Rd 1.5-story frame dwelling - chimney fire extended into the walls - special call mutual aid company from Meriden to the fire

1248 H25 West Norwood Persons reported fire at Carter House on Tulse Hill, working fire in 1st flr apartment using 1 hosereel, 1 civilian rescued w/smoke inhalation, 3 civilian jumpers from 2nd & 3rd flrs.

2250 G27 North Kensington 4 pump fire, persons reported at Kings North House on Silchester Rd, 4-sty apartment block 30m x 8m, working fire on 2nd flr extended to 3rd flr using 3 hosereels.

0318 H32 Norbury 4 pump fire, persons reported at 14 Oakdale Rd, 3-sty private dwelling 20m x 15m, heavy fire 3rd flr using 2 jets, TIC, 1 civilian w/smoke inhalation.
