An Orlando man suspected of making a bomb that investigators say targeted emergency personnel last weekend was arrested in Kissimmee on Wednesday, authorities said.
Howard Earl Morgan, 42, is accused of making and discharging a destructive device Sunday at Holley Garden Apartments off south Orange Avenue.
No one was injured in the incident.
Lt. J.R. Saez, an investigator at the Orlando Fire Department's arson and bomb squad, said Morgan also is suspected of setting his car afire a day before the explosive device was found in his apartment.
Saez said Morgan called 911 on Sunday and hung up about 1:45 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived at his apartment, they found a small gas cylinder with a clock and wires attached to it.
About 100 residents at the complex were evacuated.
When investigators blasted it with a water cannon, it exploded and caused a small fire in the apartment, Saez said.
