KME
If you are trying to say hat KME is the only company that has equipment that breaks or has problems, then you need to look around.
I have read many a story about other equipment that breaks. One of my neighboring departments has had 3 electrical fires in 2 different trucks and neither are KME they will only buy one type. You must remeber that trucks are machine and they are prone to break down when used. Any truck will last if you never us it.

KME does not manufacture the components of their trucks, neither do any of the other manufacturers. pumps, transmissions, engines, electrical components. problems are not limited to anyone maker. i have a list of makers that have had problems. funny thing is the only posts on here are bad posts, never any good. stay safe

KME
As posted by others, all manufacturers use components made by outside vendors. Our KME is going on 4 years old and the majority of the problems we encountered were electrical problems on equipment supplied by vendors. I live in a county where practically all of the major apparatus manufacturers are represented. There are companies with Pierce apparatus which had to have rear axles replaced. There are stations with E-Ones that had to have transmissions replaced. The point is that although the organizations ran onto problems with components, it doesn't mean that all Pierces or E-Ones are junk. KME had quality problems when they first entered the Fire Apparatus market. But since then, they have improved. Unfortunately, everyone remembers the early problems. It's a stigma that will probably take years to overcome. I do not work for KME, but I deal with them for routine maintenance for our vehicles. I can honestly say that they've always been helpful with any problems we've encountered.
