Default 2 Kids Die In PA House Fire

PITTSBURGH -- Chopper 11 was over the scene of a deadly house fire in Westmoreland County.

The fire started around 9:20 a.m. Monday along Cedarbrook Road in Rostraver Township.

Police said two children were stuck on the second floor.

Gwendolyn Knupp, 4, and Margaret Knupp, 2, were killed in the blaze.

The children were found in separate upstairs bedrooms.

The mother, Anita Knupp, was reportedly asleep in a rocking chair downstairs and managed to escape the fire.

Officials said another 6-year-old child was in school and the father was at work at the time of the blaze.

    Officials are investigating.

I will post updates on this story throughout the day.

From all that I have read, heard, and seen. At this time it is unknown if the house had smoke detectors. I heard this fire get dispatched and the way it came in(almost 90% sure was still half asleep). The dispatcher said it was an unoccupied fully involed structure fire with exposers to an occupied house. The pictures that I have seen show no house within maybe 100 feet or more. Now I very well could of heard the dispatcher wrong but thats what it sounded like. Will update once I have more information.
