I am looking for information from anyone in any department relating to housing issues affecting volunteers in there area. Specifically, does your department provide living facilities to members in exchange for service. Anything from a dorm style room within the firehouse to an apartment or a house. If so, please send me information. I live on Long Island in NY and we have a serious housing crisis which I feel will eventually affect our volunteers in a serious way very shortly. Several departments in Orangetown, NY are already considering providing members with apartments in exchange for service.
