    Default LODD - Cincinnati

There are not many details yet, but a City of Cincinnati firefighter lost his life at a house fire this morning.

The 25 year-old firefighter is the first firefighter in over 20 years to lose his life in the line of duty. The name of the firefighter has not yet been released, pending notification of the family.

Please keep this firefighter and his family in your prayers.

    Stay safe.

Default More Information on Cincinnati LODD

    Brothers & Sisters,
More information. The Cincy FF may have been caught in a flashover. Also, there are indications that it may have been an arson fire.

The local CISD team has responded. More as I hear about it.

    George-

Ohio is a death penalty state. However, as of this morning, the Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that investigators do not believe this to be a case of arson.

Good. It would only make the death worse.

Default LODD Fire Cause: Pan Of Oil On Stove

    From the Cincinnati Enquirer:

Pan of oil caused fire that killed firefighter

The Bond Hill fire that killed a Cincinnati firefighter last month started when a pan of oil on a stove caught fire. The burner was inadvertently turned on, fire investigators said Thursday. The oil caught fire, and flames spread to cabinets above the stove, then to the rest of the kitchen and throughout the 1131 Laidlaw Ave. residence.

Firefighter Oscar Armstrong III was killed March 21 when the fire flashed over.
