    4/14/03 - 4/15/03
    BUFFALO, NY:

As we were winding up our New Jersey trip, the Buffalo FD was topping off a busy day of large grass & brush fires. Little did they know the evening & night would be full of fire action.

At 20:57hrs, a full assignment was sent to 274 Delaware Ave for fire in the old Touranine Hotel. Engine 2 arrived with fire on the 6th floor of a 10-story brick Apartment building. B-56 transmitted a Second Alarm at 21:01 hours. The fire was confined to Apt.609 with smoke damage above. Two lines operated. The 3rd Battalion 2nd Platoon on duty.

At 21:21hrs, A full assignment to 34 Woltz Ave for a house fire with people trapped. Engine 22 arrived with heavy fire showing at 36 Woltz. Fire in a 1.5-story frame with all occupants removed prior to the FD's arrival. The 6th Battalion covered Woltz. 3 lines were used. Minor extension to the attic. 2nd Platton on duty.

At 01:45hrs, Full assignment to 216 Smith St. A 2-story brick garage - fully involved. 2.5" lines were used to knock down the fire. Wires down & crews remained outside as the structure collapsed. 3 lines used. 6th Battalion, 2nd Platoon on duty.

At 03:55hrs. An Alarm of fire at 1593 S. Park Ave. A 2-story brick & frame Commercial building - fully involved with exposures. A 2nd Alarm was struck at 04:10hrs. Tower Ladder 11 used their bucket as well as Truck 15 & 10's Ladder Pipes. Numeorus handlines were engaged. B-56 ordered an emergency demolition and gave a shot saying "It's an old building, maybe the preservationists want to save it." (The building at Main & Virginia is going thru the same thing right now). This fire was placed under control at 05:39hrs. 6th Battalion, 2nd Platoon on duty.

At 05:13hrs, while the S. Park fire was still going - a Full Assignment to the area of Maryland & Prospect. While crews were en-route, a PS sent to 125 West Ave at 05:15hrs for smoke in the area. Units arrived to find a large 2.5-story frame with heavy fire from the attic at 122 West Ave. All Companies from both assignments worked on West Ave using 4 lines. The 4th Battalion operated the West Ave job, which is in the Third Battalion. The Second Platoon wrapped up a busy night with this job. The Alarm Office and Chiefs were all getting confused as to what channels to be on and who was working. Eventually it was all straightned out.

We offer pager coverage from Bangor, Maine to Washington DC (our corridor coverage system), our New England States Regional System and now our NEW Nationwide System for the fire buff who travels around the country. Incident coverage includes Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont.

We page Working Fires and greater, Motor Vehicle Accidents using Jaws, MCI, or Medflight Helicopter. Police Incidents such as Shootings, stabbings, car chases, etc. and Major NEWS incidents.

We have a National Group for multiple alarms that we get from our affiliates across the country.

We have several groups to choose from and all groups have the option to be turned off. We also use a state of the art FLEX system which allows us to page 240 characters.

A feature for those outside our pager service area allows us to page our incidents to your personal alphanumeric pager or to your digital cell phone.

We also offer E-mail of our incidents to your E-mail address or E-mail enabled Wireless device.

For existing Fire Paging groups we have the TAC9 USA Computer for multiple alarm fires. A Fire Paging group sends one page to this computer, either by SNPP, WCTP, SMTP (E-mail), or TAP (dial up) and the system sends that multiple alarm fire to all your reciprocal groups. That simple !

Call us for details or check us out on the web.

Thank You for your interest in TAC9 PAGING.
