I am thinking about going to paramedic school, but I have so many questions about it! My career goal is to be a firefighter and it seems as though the only way for it to happen is if I add on a paramedic lic. I am trying to find out information on schools in the San francisco and monterey bay areas of california. Most web sites only list the courses, but what I really need are the days, time and cost. I need to know how much time it would take each week too, so I can see if it would be reasonable for me to work. I also wonder if there are any grants or scholarships for this sort of thing, like most, I have bills to pay. I want to do this right and the only way to do that is to prepare mentally & financially. Does any one know where I should begin?

For a complete list of California Schools, check out the CA EMSA website at http://www.emsa.cahwnet.gov/
In the Bay area check out Hospital Consortium Education Network. Candidates are always looking for locations to obtain their EMT and Paramedic Certs on a timely basis. Hospital Consortium Education Network has classes starting in Pleasanton, Burlingame and Azusa. http://www.hospitalconsort.org/
Also, check out NCTI http://www.ncti-online.com/contact.shtml

I know that some of the communities and counties in the states have firemedics.. This is a combination of paramedic, and firefighters!
GOOD LUCK! I know that you can do it!!!Firefighters are beneficial to every community with the wealth of information they have!
They don't get enough praise, for the information and skills they know! It could save your life one day!!!!!
