For those of you who are not aware, Rep. Paul Semmel, chairman of the Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committee, introduced 5 bills to benefit emergency services yesterday in Schnecksville, PA. The bill introduced included a grant program for fire / EMS, increasing the cap on the VLAP program, reimbursement for municipal fire training, the creation of a Homeland Security Dept. and a bill relating to bio-terrorism / WMD training. I'd contact your local state rep. for more info.
