Me and her indoors--Both "Tooanfroms" =Poms living in the Land of the Long White Cloud-me ex LFB--the boss was the first female to achieve Senior Station Officer rank in Noo Zelund if not the world-Comms Officer at Pitt Street Auckland-Red Watch 1977 to 1985--we both miss the job but most of all the camaraderie, there is nothing on Earth that can replace the buzz of being in the Fire Brigade family.One of my best mates "Lushshersh" Leslie Ludgrove and his missus a watchmate from the old days visits us over here on a regular basis. His claim to fame? One of the few firemen to hold a Bo'suns ticket on the Fireboat working out of Lambeth on the River Thames, London--he reckoned being paid to drive a boat on one of the busiest rivers in the world was majic. You can leave the job, the job never leaves you.Anyway wherever you are on this planet--take care --wanna talk to ya-not about ya!

G'day fellow fires from Australia and NZ, I was posted in NSW for about 3 years when i heard the call of warmer weather. Now station on Groote Eylandt in the NT working as wait for in a fire/rescue role for the Eylandt and the airport.
How is things going down that way ??....

Yes, just a support member these days, I make myself available when I can weekdays to drive the tanker.
