Firefighter's death not related to job

Cedar Hammock Firefighter First Class Steven C. Plath, 44, died Tuesday at home, according to a Cedar Hammock Fire Department report.

"I hold firefighters in high regard and this is just something we don't like to see," Battalion Chief Leigh Hollins said.

Plath's cause of death was not released, but Hollins said it was not related to his firefighting duties. Details concerning services were not available late Tuesday, Hollins said.
