Just came across this, as I don't usually venture into this realm of nonsense too often. I know this guy and he was merely asking for information as a new leader in the "Explorer" program and you respond like this. Real nice. And you guys wonder why nobody respects you. And I see that nobody, other than Ladder44126, has bothered to give ANY advice or help at ALL. Here you've all had a chance to actually be of use and to help someone and you screw it up.

That's not the point. He asked a legitimate question and you guys treated him like he was some kind of idiot. Lashing out at newcomers who are only trying to obtain info is a stupid thing to do. You people had an opportunity to actually use what little experience and skills you have to really assist someone who simply asked for help...and you BLEW it, plain and simple. Your actions may possibly drive someone who otherwise would be a long term contributor to this forum and your program off this site for good. That's really smart on your part.

Well golly gee I guess we all wish could be as enlightened and informed as you nozzleman, wait didnt you go on the offensive to a newbie once in a light thread?. I spent about 30 minutes typeing a serious email to "DOC"(have you?) with serious advice and steps to set up a good post that will produce good firefighters but he never replyed. Has he gotten it,I dont know if he hasnt I will resend it.

Again, that's no excuse for your actions here. Someone requesting info on a program in a sincere manner is a far cry from some kid wanting to know what Dashwhacker model to buy for his Escort. And I sincerely doubt that I've ever gone on the "offensive" and treated somebody like that. Your attitude grows tiresome.

I don't have to; he's a personal friend and brother of mine. As for advising him...well, I can't quite do that. I think the Explorers and their parent organization, The Boy Scouts, are a discriminatory organization with archaic views and beliefs about people. They exclude people based on religious views and what they think "good" Americans should be/look like, and I don't think they should be a part of ANY government organization or receive ANY preferential treatment or benefits from these governments; governments who should treat everybody equally and reflect the views of the entire population, not just "christians." As an atheist, I am not permitted to be a part of the Boy Scouts or any of their programs...and I think that is wrong.

Oh dear god not another Liberal atheist, pull up your 3/4's jr.s its getting deep!!!

I looked on the on the BSA explorer site, post application, sign up sheets and I quote form the sign up sheet--"Exploring is a contemporary program for young men and women who are at least 14 and have completed the eighth grade, or who are 15 years old but not yet 21.
Exploring provides opportunities to learn about career opportunities in association with adults from business and community organizations."

I dont see where it says you must follow or not follow any sort of relgion, social class or belief to join? Can you point it out to me or did your foot go to far down your throat?

When I first came to this forum I had to learn many lessons about dealing with people from out side of my post. So when I used to post like a drunken 12 year old was I cut any slack--no.When Kfcjr posted like a idiot was he cut any--no. When ff1219 tryed to defend himself against a stupid topic he was cut to piecies. So "DOC" comes in and spell's like a 12 year old you expect us to cut him slack cause you know him? I myself make many typos but I usally try to fix them, why doesnt "DOC"? Im sure "DOC" is great guy but he has to realize you need a thick skin to do this job and a even thicker to talk about it.
If I hurt "DOC" im sorry I didnt mean to but im not the only one who had wonderd about him--just the only one who voiced about it.

Explorers? Discriminatory? My Explorer post accepts just about anyone. Race, religion, looks, none of that figures into joining.

You people had an opportunity to actually use what little experience and skills you have
Do you have any knowledge on what skills and experiences DFD has? Thought not.

Doesn't matter what skills or experience he has or doesn't have; he didn't bother sharing it with somebody who asked a simple set of questions about something he should know about. Yet, he chose to respond with some smart-*** remark that helps nothing except his own ego. Your post makes as much sense as his.

Explorers? Discriminatory? My Explorer post accepts just about anyone. Race, religion, looks, none of that figures into joining.
Sorry, I checked into it. Advisors are required to follow the same set of rules that the Boy Scouts follow. And it doesn't matter. Facts are facts and the Explorers are a part of the Boy Scouts of America and they DO discriminate and it is mostly condoned by governments who choose to look the other way. Some places, like California, are beginning to realize that it is wrong to offer programs to some people, but not others, and are getting rid of them if they refuse to bring their programs into compliance with the law.

And as for Doc's spelling, you're a good one to talk! When someone mispells a word, we do not accuse them of being "high." Now that you've apologized for your childish behavior, you can go back to arguing about strobes on bicycles or some other worthwhile topic.

Default Why dont "DOC" stand up and talk?

    When someone mispells a word,
That was'nt just one word it was a incoherent ramble on both posts.

Doesn't matter what skills or experience he has or doesn't have; he didn't bother sharing it with somebody who asked a simple set of questions about something he should know about.
    Did you forget this quote?
I spent about 30 minutes typeing a serious email to "DOC"
Just came across this, as I don't usually venture into this realm of nonsense too often
Ok,answer what the unknown chemical was and what you would do in "What would you do" or venture a guess at "2 story apartment" or are those real life situations non-sense too?

Your actions may possibly drive someone who otherwise would be a long term contributor to this forum and your program off this site for good.
    Ok did you forget this?
Im sure "DOC" is great guy but he has to realize you need a thick skin to do this job and a even thicker to talk about it.
Real nice. And you guys wonder why nobody respects you.
Really, you consulted everybody or did you consult nobody?

And I see that nobody, other than Ladder44126, has bothered to give ANY advice or help at ALL
Really, did you read Quiggers post ?

Sorry, I checked into it. Advisors are required to follow the same set of rules that the Boy Scouts follow.
Can you point out the page and line where it says you must be a White, male Christian to join? I belive that only ones who still use that as pre-req. is the KKK. I think there is a big difference between showing young men and women morals, values and love of thier country than the KKK!!!!

We are getting tierd of your double standerds and shifting opinions and your loseing credibility here. And no I was not apoligizeing for my "Childish action".

It was not an incoherant ramble, it was plainly a request for help.

We are getting tierd of your double standerds and shifting opinions and your loseing credibility here. And no I was not apoligizeing for my "Childish action".
This makes no sense at all.

Im sure "DOC" is great guy but he has to realize you need a thick skin to do this job and a even thicker to talk about it.
This is no excuse to needlessly insult somebody, especially someone who is new to this forum.

And no I was not apoligizeing for my "Childish action".
    Then you need too.

Oh dear god not another Liberal atheist, pull up your 3/4's jr.s its getting deep!!!

    Explorer Code

I believe that America's strength lies in our trust in GOD and in the courage, strength, and traditions of our people.
I will therefore, be FAITHFUL IN MY RELIGIOUS DUTIES and will maintain a personal sense of honor in my own life.
I will treasure my American heritage and will do all I can to preserve and enrich it.
I will recognize the dignity and worth of all humanity and will use fair play and goodwill in my daily life.
I will acquire the Exploring attitude that seeks the truth in all things and adventure on the frontiers of our changing world.

Pretty much sums it up, huh?

Alright I admit that my grammer and spelling need some work, but I don't want to see anyone getting kicked off the forums because of me. So can we let this go and move on to something more inportant like firefighting? That is all I have on this topic. Sorry for all the problems that my post has caused. THANK YOU DOC.......

Doc, your post did not cause problems. People's attitudes caused problems.

And as for Doc's spelling, you're a good one to talk! When someone mispells a word, we do not accuse them of being "high." Now that you've apologized for your childish behavior, you can go back to arguing about strobes on bicycles or some other worthwhile topic.
Nozzleman, I'll assume this was meant for DFD and not me.

PS - I also emailed Doc, just had to have time to find the information I was looking for.

    That should answer your question.

Do a little research and you will find many examples of the BSA restricting their membership via religion, sexual orientation etc.

    DFD,

Oh dear god not another Liberal atheist
    Can you name another one?

Good point. Of course, these are the same people who think I should pledge allegiance to their "god" at the same time I pledge it to my country.
