Post Quote- "Mom, I will never forget the screaming."

EDMONTON (CP) - The frightened squeals of trapped pigs filled
the air Tuesday as fire destroyed two barns at a Hutterite colony,
    killing about 1,400 animals.
Firefighters from four towns - Legal, Morinville, Namao and
Calahoo - responded to the alarm at the Morinville Colony, about 60
    kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
"My daughter was the first one here who tried to get to the
pigs," said Esther Wurz, a resident of the colony. "She said
`Mom, I will never forget the screaming.' "
Legal fire Chief Maurice Chamberland said crews arrived within
20 minutes but could not save either building.
They did keep the flames from spreading to three adjacent barns,
all of which were connected by hallways. About 1,500 pigs in those
three barns were untouched by the fire.
Mike Wurz, who oversees most of the 118-person colony, estimated
the cost of the damage at between $800,000 and $1 million.
Two boys were cleaning out one barn in preparation for a visit
by a veterinarian later in the day, Mike Wurz said, when they saw
that the air was opaque with something other than dust. By the time
they attracted the attention of the other colony members, flames
    were visible.
The fire spread through a hallway to a second barn before fire
    crews arrived.
Most of the dead animals were sows and piglets. The three
remaining barns are used for the last stages in the animals'
growth, and Mike Wurz said without sows to birth new pigs, stock
will quickly dwindle as the adult pigs are sold.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Who are the Hutterites? Are they a religious sect?
