REDINGTON, Ariz. (AP) - Crews battling a wildfire at the base of
the Catalina Mountains were hoping to have the blaze contained
Thursday.
The fire was reported Tuesday and blackened 153 acres of
grassland and low-lying brush in the mountains northeast of Tucson,
said Deneen Cone of the Arizona State Land Department.
Firefighters had it about 35 percent contained on Wednesday.
The cause of the blaze remained under investigation. The blaze
had threatened three abandoned buildings, but they were not damaged
by the fire.
