Attending the 66th annual Nebraska State Fire School at Fonner
Park here over the weekend was an expensive proposition for the
Chapman Volunteer Fire Department.
The department reported $1,600 in equipment was stolen early
Saturday morning from its motel parking lot.
A fire suit, pants, jacket, helmet and other equipment were
missing, Police Capt. Larry Trosper said.
The Chapman firefighters first thought another department was
playing a joke on them, Trosper said. The equipment is still
