For the second day in a row severe storms pounded the west coast of Florida from Manatee County to Citrus County. The storms bought intense lightning, large hail and torrential downpours in some areas. [b]However, officials warn that this is only a drop in a bucket and does not eliminate the drought conditions.

A monday afternoon lightning strike in Tampa started a fire that did $25,000 in damage to the house. The fire was under control (according to fire dept officials) in 15 minutes but the occupant was forced to stay with friends in the area due to the damage.
