Why do you need badges? Not bashing, just asking.

We have badges for our dress uniforms. They want us to look nice when we do Pub Ed stuff.

My dept. has badges that are issued after one year of service. Our Explorer cadets get there badges the same way. The badges we have now are sewn on since the others are now non-compliant.

For Uniforms, yes, never thought of getting a badge for other purposes. Actually we are in the process of designing our own badge. Seeing as the one we currently have arent correct (long story). So maybe I'll bring it up; If I see the need for them. lol

We all got our badges when the need to wear a uniform arose. We all have a simple chest (uniform) badge now. I have two because I lost the one the fire department gave me and rather than tell the chief, I called up Blackinton and ordered and paid for one just like it. Three days after it arrived I found the one I lost, so I just keep the company issued one in my wallet. I'll probably buy a new furnace piece for my helmet as well in case I ever leave the company, so I can keep the one I actually wore.

Nope - our advisors say as an explorer, we are a scouting program and not a part of the fire department, so they cannot issue any fire related identification.
