Former rural fire chief enters plea in theft case
(Lincoln-AP) -- Former Southwest Lincoln Rural Fire Protection
District Chief Gregg Fisher has pleaded NO contest to theft by
deception over use of a department credit card for his personal
In court yesterday (Tuesday), the 39-year-old Fisher also agreed
to make 13-thousand-950-dollars in restitution. That came in a plea
agreement in which prosecutors reduced the felony class from three
Fisher is scheduled to be sentenced July 17th. He faces a
maximum of five years in prison and a ten-thousand-dollar fine.
Prosecutors are recommending, however, that Fisher receive five

He was Southwest Rural fire chief for eight years until his
