Does anyone have information they might lend me about the Bourne FD (or any Cape FD's)? I'll be going to school at MA Maritime this fall and I'd like to continue working with a FD starting second semester/fall 2004. One of the fire stations is literally right down the street from the campus, so I was wondering if they have a volunteer/ on-call contingent as well as the paid crew. Thanks.

HFD66Truck works on the Cape. There are a few people who at www.firefightersforums.com who are firefighters there and that work at the Barnstable Fire School.

Bourne Fire is a civil service Department that runs a combination system. 4 Stations, 3 manned and 1 unmanned, Paid on call Firefighters augment the career staff.
They run 2 engines and a truck at HQ (near Mass Maritime), as well as an ALS ambulance. The 2 other manned stations have an engine and an ambulance.
The unmanned station has an engine and a breaker (brush piece)\

Thanks for the info. I went and visited, but I lost the piece of paper I had with the chief's name and address on it
. Is there prior training required of on-call crew (FF1/2)? Do you know what the procedure is for hiring on-call personnel? I know that I won't be able to do anything first semester because of age/basic cadet training/no transport/etc..., but I'd like to be able to continue firefighting if possible during college.

Thanks much, Chief. I'll probably be up on the Cape again this weekend and I'll try to stop by their firehouse to get more information. Again, thanks for the help, it's very much appreciated.
