Pensacola Workers tried Sunday to contain an estimated 2000 gallons in diesel fuel that spilled into the Pensacola Bay by accident early Saturday morning. The dock cargo ship apparently spilled the fuel when crew members accidently dumpee the fuel into one or more of the ship's ballast tanks while it was being unloaded. The fuel and ballast water where then accidently discharged into the bay, according to assistant port director Leon Walker.

The Coast Guard believes for the most part that the spill is contained, but part of it did spread east and west according to Walker. "How far, we don't know."

Coast Guard Officials expect the cleanup to continue for several days.
