Resort community may combine with neighbor
(Vail-AP) -- Vail and its sister resort community, Beaver Creek,
are talking about sharing firefighting services to rein in costs.
Vail Fire Chief John Gulick said it might mean more efficient
services but such a merger would be complicated and require
considerable planning.
The Beaver Creek Metro District said it contacted Vail in search
of options to share fire services and reduce costs. The two
departments have met to discuss the idea but it isn't likely to
happen soon.
