Partial collapse of house injures five firefighters
Five firefighters were treated in Erie County Medical Center and later released after a burning Playter Street house partially collapsed on them Sunday morning, fire officials said.
Authorities said the fire broke out in the vacant house at 109 Playter just after 1 a.m. The 11/2-story structure quickly began falling apart, they said. The blaze also spread to a nearby vacant building at 16 Sweet Ave.
Damage was estimated by officials at $1,000 each, and emergency demolition has been ordered for both buildings.

I hope for a quick recovery for our brothers and am thankful that they were able to return to their families.
