Battalion Chief over Comm center

I am researching other Fire Departments to see how many have a Battalion Chief or higher over their Fire Communications, any info about the size of your center and the rank of the individual that manages it would be greatly appreciated.

I assume this is for a fire dispatch center only and you don't answer 911 lines or handle police?

My center does everything (police/fire/EMS) and the Director and Deputy Director are both civilians. Our "Board" consists of the police and fire chiefs from each of the 3 towns we handle. They deal with budgetary issues and major operational issues effecting the field units and comm staff. The Director and Deputy Director handle all internal issues. It works well this way. Having a field unit in charge of the comm center in my opinion is not a good idea.
