Back in 1998, I was involved in an incident with a person who was DUI and struck at an accident scene. At that time and as of now, there is no law in my township or county, that I am aware of that is specifically created to protect emergency personnel and at least fine the driver of the vehicle involved. Too often I read about personnel being struck and killed at scenes. I know Illinois created a law after a Chicago Fire Department Captain was killed. Could anyone provide information in regards to this?
