Acetylene Tank Sparks Explosions; No One Hurt

TAMPA - An acetylene tank that caught fire Friday caused two explosions, Tampa Fire Rescue said.
Firefighters responded to a fire at Tampa Tank and Steel Fabrication, 5205 E. Adamo Drive, about 8:15 p.m. Workers were using acetylene tanks when one caught fire and exploded, followed by a second tank, fire rescue said.
Crews cooled the burning tanks and protected a container of liquefied oxygen. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 45 minutes, fire rescue said.
No injuries were reported.
The Tampa Fire Marshal's Office has not determined the cause of the fire but says it was accidental.
