INTERLACHEN, Fla. (AP) - Putnam County Fire Marshal Joe Guidry
said it didn't take him long to conclude that arson was to blame
for a mobile home fire west of Interlachen.
Guidry said Armando Angel Rivera, 28, was outside the trailer,
owned by Rivera's mother.
"He said, 'I set it on fire,"' Guidry told The Palatka Daily
News. "He said he needed to go to jail, and I obliged him."
Rivera was charged with felony arson and misdemeanor counts of
breaking and entering and vandalism, said Guidry. He was booked
into the county jail in Palatka on $5,508 bond and was still there
Thursday, a jail spokesman said. The jail had no information on his
Rivera told investigators he had just been released from a
rehabilitation center on Tuesday and came to the home, couldn't
find his mother and broke into the trailer and spent the night. On
Wednesday, he said, he set the fire.
Guidry said the fire caused about $1,500 in damage and no
