1st...Are you a rural FD with pop. of 10,000 or less?

if yes you need to call forestry and get them to add you to their mailing list for the VFA grants. They wont come out again til May or June 04. Its a 50/50 matching grant from federal. Check out

Also, go to www.usfa.fema.gov to get more info on the Fire Act Grant. The application period in the past has been March-April. I believe congress has approved them for next year also.
