3 Simple Steps to the 9/11 Preservation Ribbon:
Materials: Black Ribbon #9, Yellow Ribbon #5, Stapler, Pin.
Step #1
Measure and cut both ribbons to 12 inches in length.
Step #2
Place the yellow ribbon on top of the black ribbon and make a loop crossing one end over the other.
Step #3
Staple the ribbon in place and attach to clothing using pin.
If we do not STAND together on
preservation, we will never stand on
bedrock again. It will be lost forever.ALL GAVE SOME BUT SOME GAVE ALL

Myself, and all of us at the firehouse at the Baghdad Airport will be there in spirit. Those of us that are the tip of the sword will never forget the reason we are here.

What would make our presence stronger, civilian attire or uniform’s?
I'll be there either way.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

The Coalition of 9/11 Families won't protest construction on what it calls "sacred ground" at Ground Zero on the Sept. 11 anniversary, deciding to move its event to Sept. 10.
The group wanted family members to gather at the World Trade Center site to demand a ban on any nonmemorial construction on or below the footprints of the destroyed Twin Towers, prompting other family members' demands that Sept. 11 be strictly about the lives lost in the attacks.
"We couldn't talk about it on the 11th. It wouldn't be appropriate," said coalition member Jack Lynch, who lost his son Michael, a firefighter Engine 40. "We still feel the families must make a statement on the 11th."
Lynch called for supporters to meet Sept. 10 at noon next to Ground Zero at the corner of Church and Liberty streets, wearing yellow clothing and yellow and black ribbons. Lynch said yellow represents the sacred ground and black honors those killed Sept. 11.
Lynch said the change was made Monday because members felt they couldn't hold signs or speak about concerns if the event were held on the anniversary. "We will still wear yellow and the ribbon on Sept. 11, and we call on all Americans who support the preservation of sacred ground to wear yellow [clothing] and yellow and black ribbon," Lynch said.
The Lower Manhattan Development Corp., which is overseeing the selection of a memorial, recently identified an off-site location for the bus garage and worked with the Port Authority, the site's owner, to move vehicle security and other infrastructure off-site, LMDC spokeswoman Joanna Rose said.
"From its inception, the LMDC has been committed to ensuring an appropriate memorial setting and memorial to those lost on Sept. 11 and in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center," Rose said. "We look forward to continuing to work with the families as we move forward to honor those lost."Last edited by E40FDNYL35; 09-01-2003 at 08:01 AM.

Ray,
I'll be there in spirit on the 10th, and if there are any protests etc taking place while I'm in NYC in a few weeks I will rearrange my schedule so as I can attend to lend support. I think that the whole memorial for 9/11, and especially the seperate memorial for firefighters and other emergency service workers is something that all firefighters right around the world feel strongly about.Last edited by stillPSFB; 09-07-2003 at 08:34 AM.

To E40FDNYL35
Thoughts and prayers will be with you all this Sept.11. Have been reading the book "Firehouse", a great loss to your house. I hope the good memories of your lost brothers, and the brothers around you give you all strength to get through this tough time.
Cheers from Canada

Each dot represents the location of body parts recovered. The above map illustrates the varying depths where our loved ones were recovered from ground level to the bedrock foundation of the towers within the slurry wall area. 19,938 remains were recovered of the 2,792 loved ones murdered on September 11, 2001. Each floor of the 110 story towers was compressed to approximately 12 inches. The interior of the slurry wall incorporates the sacred and hallowed area where the majority of our loved ones were recovered. This area must be preserved for the memorial

Nice one Pat!
Sure wish I could be there yelling and screaming with Ray.
All I can do is say I'm with you all in spirit for this fight, just as I will be with you in your sorrow tomorrow.
I am going to put a plea out to as many people online today as I can, to go to the WTC site at and support the FDNY.
I think I may just have to turn on the TV this morning and see if there's any coverage

COALITION ENCOURAGED BY LMDC MEMORIAL REVISIONS
NEW YORK, N.Y. – 9/18/03 – On 9-17-03, Coalition of 9/11 Families leaders met with LMDC, Port Authority officials and Daniel Libeskind to discuss recent modifications to the WTC site plan. The Coalition is encouraged by some of the positive modifications, which include removal of the bus depot from the WTC site; and removal of security and service ramps from the bedrock area of the bathtub and away from the bedrock footprints. Redevelopment officials are starting to listen because we have all begun to speak with one unified voice on this issue, but there are still many gray areas. No commitment to preserve the bedrock footprints has been made at this point (contrary to what has been reported). WE HAVE NOT SECURED THE BEDROCK FOOTPRINTS OF THE TOWERS, BUT IN OUR UNITED EFFORTS WE ARE SURE TO REALIZE THIS VISION.
During the meeting, we also expressed concern that the original PATH train system has been increased from a 7 car system to a 10 car system—which creates a great deal of encroachment on the bedrock footprint of the South Tower (approx. 2/3). We also reiterated our opposition to the newly extended Greenwich and Fulton Streets being open to vehicular traffic through the site. Coalition leaders informed redevelopment leaders that we will not waiver in our efforts to preserve the historical and spiritual significance of the bedrock footprints for all Americans. We asked for their support of our National Historic Landmark nomination of the bedrock footprints—we were advised that LMDC and Port Authority officials are in receipt of and reviewing our nomination. We reiterated our position of minimal infrastructure on and maximum access to the bedrock footprints. There is still much work to be done to secure the bedrock footprints for American history.ALL GAVE SOME BUT SOME GAVE ALL

If your in town
The Coalition urges all supporters to join us for the Second Annual “We Remember Walk” on Sunday, September 28th. Participants will assemble at Battery Park in NYC at 2:00PM. The solidarity walk to the World Trade Center site begins at 3:00 PM. We ask all participants to wear yellow and a yellow and black preservation ribbons. Yellow and black have become the official colors of the bedrock footprint preservation movement. All families, survivors, rescue workers and supporters are welcome.
