About LinkBacksMan Charged With Torching His Home
A Lakeland man has been charged in setting his home on fire Tuesday night in South Lakeland, the State Fire Marshal's Office reported.
David Gagnon, 42, of Dimbath Drive, was charged with arson. He was in the Polk County Jail on $15,000 bail late Wednesday, according to jail records.
A neighbor told detectives they saw Gagnon carrying a gas can in front of his home as flames shot out from his front window, an arrest report said.
Gagnon told detectives he poured gasoline on his carpet, then threw a lit cigarette on the floor, according to the arrest report. A motive was not indicated in the arrest report.
