Whenever I discuss the emergency personnel murdered on 9/11/01 I always mention the FDNY, EMS, NYPD, Port Authority Police, and the members of the Salvage Corps.

I think there is a reason people don't mention the PAPD when they talk about the loss that day. People outside of the fire service and many within the fire service don't know about the PAPD and the fact that they are responsible for fire protection in the Port Authority facilities.

Their sacrifice is not to be minimized by the lack of knowledge about the PAPD. Their sacrifices were every bit as heroic and devastating to their families.
