Last year a local radio station along with some motorcycle businesses in The Tampa Bay Area organized a ride to pay tribute to those that died so Bravely on 09-11. They have pledged to make it an annual event and have also vowed to make it bigger each year. The event weaves through Hillsborough County and ends at an arena where food is provided for the riders. Last year a concert was held for only the riders as well. I am sure there is still time to sign up or buy a shirt. The money raised goes to local foundations that provide benefits for the families of fallen firefighters and police officers.

TAMPA - Nearly 5,000 motorcycle riders are expected to participate in a charity ride to remember the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and raise money for families of police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.
The Harley-Davidson Remembrance Ride 2003 will be Thursday and will feature thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from across the Tampa Bay area and several New York City firefighters, Hillsborough sheriff's Chief Deputy David Gee said.

The ride will begin at 7 p.m. at Harley-Davidson Of Tampa, 6920 N. Dale Mabry Highway, and end at the St. Pete Times Forum with a picnic and concert.

The proceeds benefit the Hillsborough County Gold Shield Foundation, which supports families of slain firefighters and police officers.
