HELLO, ALL MY FELLOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
I TROUBLE YOU TODAY FOR MORE INSIGHT ON A QUESTION I HAVE.
CAN A VOL. FIRE DEPARTMENT WITH A 145 MEMBERS FORM A UNION?
WE WORK FOR A INC. VILLAGE AND WORK FOR ARE LOCAL GOVERMENT OFFICALS, AND IT ALWAYS SEEMS THAT THE LOCAL POLICE MAKE OUT WITH ALL THE BUGET MONEY AND SOME OF OURS, BECAUSE IT IS A GENERAL FUND, ALONG WITH MANY OTHER PROBLEMS THAT ALL DO TO POLITICS, BUT MAYBE IF THE MEMBER HAD MORE SAY WE WOULD BE HEARD. IM LOST, HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE AND WHAT WORKED FOR YOU TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM?
ALSO ANY LINKS THAT COULD FURTHER HELP ME?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. DEAN

You might want to try talking to Patchogue FD. They were village funded until a couple of years ago. They have now become a Fire District. They also had budget problems. Someone also told me the trucks were repaired by DPW guys. Lets see do I fix the dump truck, garbage truck or Fire truck today......

we are a 35 member POC department with a full time Chief. It is a unionized department and has been so for almost 10 years now. We are municipal department, and we are a City vs a Village...........so it can be done.IACOJ both divisions and PROUD OF IT !
